Aliens: Colonial Marines street date broken, out now at EB

Aliens: Colonial Marines is now officially on sale at EB Games, out three days early to buy or pick up.

EB Games confirmed the news on their Twitter, and have broken the official street date due to a competitor already having done so.

Aliens: Colonial Marines is available now for Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 for AUD $79.95 or on PC for AUD$69.95. A Wii U release date is yet to be determined.

The review embargo is still in place until the morning of the official release, so there won't be any reviews until then. We had it out at work yesterday, I asked who broke street date and they said there was no date on the boxes so it got put straight out, lol

If the game is any good the review is always out early. The only time a review comes out late is when the game is crap or average.

I don't think you understand an embargo. It is illegal for them to post reviews early and with SEGA being the company threatening to sue I think the reviewers will listen. It's either that or face being shut down

But what your not understanding is why they have an embargo until release morning? if this was to get shining reviews i'm sure they would have come early to help boost game sales and awareness. SEGA knows its a turkey and are hoping to dupe its fans again...

I don't think so, Halo 4 had a review embargo because a new company was making it and they wanted the game to sell based on its name alone, aliens is a massive franchise with millions of fans, by not letting reviews out they may get some sales from people based on the franchise name not what some reviewer says. Most people with brains ignore reviewers anyway, alot of them are jaded and don't enjoy games anymore and others are paid for good scores, unfortunately there are alot of people that will believe what they write and base a purchase solely on the review score

I just went in to get it. According to the guy at EB the street date has not been broken. EB website still say 12th of Feb. So WTF

No point getting it before street date if you get it on PC cos Steam wont let you install it anyway
